Royal Holloway Year in Business has just been featured in James Caan's "Your Business" Magazine. The star of Dragon's Den has published a magazine for entrepreneurs and SME owners and in July 2018 the Magazine featured an article entitled "Ahead of Business" which explores the benefits of a Year in Business.
Katharine Radford, Royal Holloway Year in Business Programme Officer is cited as describing Year in Business placements as being good for both Students and Businesses. "Students gain valuable work experience that will help set them on a successful career path. Many come out with a Graduate job offer and if not, a much better idea of what they want to do on graduating. They return to College with increased Self confidence, enhanced professional skills and discipline levels which set them up well for their final year. The companies involved meanwhile gain the advantage of having a smart, talented young person come in to their organisation and contribute those talents towards the company goals".
Royal Holloway students are encouraged to seek out placements in businesses of all sizes. While many YIBs do join large companies such as GSK, GE and IBM there are many students who go to smaller companies.
