2018/19 placements started by Royal Holloway YIBs

As the current Royal Holloway Management YIBs finish off their placement years and look forward to returning for their final year at College, a new cohort of students are starting their placements which will take them through to the Summer of 2019. It is a tough process for students to secure placements and massive congratulations go out to all who have done so! All YIBs have received Pre placement briefings at the University before starting their placements and we are already hearing positive reports about how many of them are getting on.

This year our Management students have taken up placements at a large range of Companies, varying from well known Multinationals to SMEs. Students have secured positions at Companies such as Aston Martin, BMW, Deloitte, Enterprise, Groupe Richemont, FDM Group, Honda, Jaguar Landrover, SAP, Unilever and Xerox. Smaller companies include Ascot Wealth Management, Ethos Farm, Veenus Ltd, Winser London.  Many of our students have been successful in obtaining local placements including Asahi Beer, Ensono, VMWare and 3 successfully obtained placements with PiXL (Partners in Excellence). The majority of our students have UK placements but it is possible for students to undertake placements overseas and one of our students has a placement in Spain with BBVA. Well done all!

Students have been successful in achieving a wide range of placement positions including those in HR, Marketing, Digital Marketing ,Events and Operations, Business Analyst, Finance, Accountancy, Revenue Management, Wealth Management, Management Trainee, Sales and Business Development.

Students can select which placement positions they apply for. Many do choose their Degree speciality (eg a Marketing placement position if they are studying BSc Management with Marketing) but it is not compulsory for them to do so. Students are supported by the Royal Holloway placement team and a dedicated Year in Business Careers' Advisor who offer support and guidance at every stage of the placement process.

We are looking forward to welcoming the YIBs back for a Call Back afternoon at the University from 12.30pm on Monday October 1st when they will have the chance to share their placement experiences and learn more about the Academic Assessment which they will complete as part of their placement year.
