On Monday 6th February we welcomed the 1st year YIBs (Year in Business students) to participate in a Business game run by Enterprise Rent-A-Car in the Windsor Auditorium at Royal Holloway.
The Car Club Challenge event was run by Paul Hanrahan, the Talent Acquisition manager at Enterprise. Paul inspired the students in his talk about ways of developing their skills to enhance their employability. Students were then given the chance to put their business and marketing skills into practice – they worked in small groups to decide in which city Enterprise should open their Car Club brand and how they should market that brand. This was a fantastic opportunity for students to develop key skills in communication, teamwork, analysis, leadership and presenting.
The students received very positive feedback regarding their level of engagement, the quality of questions asked and the strength of their presentations. Well done to all the students who got up to present their team’s results! Participants in the break out groups will all receive a certificate from Enterprise and the winning group will receive Amazon vouchers.
The Car Club challenge gave 1st year Business students the opportunity to participate in the sort of activity they will encounter in Assessment centres when they apply for placements next year! It also helped students think about and develop the skills they can demonstrate on their CVs.
Enterprise Rent-A -Car advertise summer internships as well as 12 month placements and Year in Business students who are interested in applying should check here: https://careers.enterprise.co.uk/internships-placements
