On one of the hottest days of the year, our Year in Business students (YIBs) from the School of Business and Management graduated in front of
proud family and friends during a memorable service in the College Chapel.
What a journey these students have been through! For some, initial placement offers were retracted due to Covid and they had to find alternative positions. For others, the placement year was spent entirely working from home. All have built their resilience during the process while developing invaluable skills making them ready for the workplace.
I enjoyed catching up with the YIBs during the Reception
which followed the Ceremony. Some are now returning as Graduates to the companies where they
did their placements. This includes Adam, who did a marketing placement at
Samsung, Alarice, who did an Analyst placement at Lazard , Kriti who did a
Business placement at CGI and Amber Rose who did her Finance placement at Frost
Wealth Management. Other YIBs have used their placement experiences to help them secure Graduate roles
in different companies including AlphaSights, BDO, Deloitte and PwC, or have moved into further study or set up their own business. We wish them all
the best and will be following their progress on Linkedin.
We have really appreciated the support these students have given
the Year in Business programme during the last couple of years. This includes
those who worked as YIB Mentors in their final year and those who helped with
Q&A sessions and workshops for younger year students. Special thanks to our YIB Mentors Alarice Himoud, Dania Qureshi, Wiktoria Sadlik, Astha Shah, Kriti Sharma, Priya Subramaniam, Emir Tolanay.
