Royal Holloway Year in Business Employer evening: Monday October 1st

On October 1st we welcomed our 2nd year Year in Business students and a number of companies offering placement positions in 2019/20. The format of the evening allowed the students to rotate around a number of zones talking informally to the companies as well as the Placement Team, Careers and a number of returning Year in Business students. There was a buzzy feel to the evening and we also received positive feedback from the Companies attending the event.

We were delighted to welcome the following companies to our Year in Business event: 3M, Ascot Wealth Management, Enterprise Rent-a-Car, IBM, Mattel, SAP, Xerox.

All companies offer a range of placement positions suitable for our Management students who study a range of degrees. These are: BSc Business and Management, BSc Accounting and Finance, BSc Management with Marketing, BSc Management with HR, BSc Management with Accounting, BSc Management with Digital Innovation, BSc Management with Entrepreneurship, BSc Management with International Business.

Returning students back from placement represented the following additional Companies: Canon, GE, Hitachi Europe, HBO, Honda Europe, Jaguar Landrover, OVUM, Porsche, Unilever, Winser London

Year in Business students were reminded of the CV/ Psychometric test workshops available for them in the following week and the need to book 1:1 appointments with both Sonia Dhaliwal in the Placements Place and Rae Roberts in Careers before 26th October.

YIB students also received demonstrations of where to find relevant information in:

> Year in Business moodle page,

> Year in Business blog page (including previous YIB profiles) http://yearinbusiness.blogspot.com/

> huntr tool for tracking applications (contact MN-YIB@rhul.ac.uk for access if not received)

> Buddy system (contact MN-YIB@rhul.ac.uk if you have not as yet received a buddy)

2nd year YIBs were reminded that we expect all to have submitted at least one placement application before Study week - Careers can provide guidance on CVs and Application forms so just ask for assistance!

The Placements Place in the Moore building is open all week for students to drop by with any questions.
