We were delighted to welcome a number of placement providers alongside YIBs who have already experienced placements to our YIB event on October 10th for the 2nd year students. All spent the evening engaging and providing advice to 2nd year students from Royal Holloway’s School of Business and Management who are eagerly seeking a placement year for 2023/24.
Companies included Alphasights, De Vere , Enterprise Rent a Car, GE Power, Hays, One Advisory, Samsung. It was fantastic to see the buzz in the Moore building with the return of this face to face event and we know both students and placement providers enjoyed the pizza!
The evening started with some inspiring words from the new Executive Dean for the School of Business and Management, Christos Tsinopoulos. We were also lucky to be joined by former YIBs , Andrea Totaro and Michael Djan who spoke passionately about the benefits of a placement year. Andrea received a graduate offer of SAP Chief of Staff following his placement with the company. Former YIB Michael Djan used his placement at SAP to help him secure a graduate finance role at De Vere group. Andrea reminded 2nd years that “A placement year is the best thing that you can do at University” while Michael reminded students of the opportunity it provides to evaluate potential career options in a safe environment.
