Management UG of the Year award - 2 YIB finalists

For the first time 2 of our Year in Business students out on placement reached the Finals of the prestigious Management Undergraduate  of the Year Award. Many congratulations to Farah Hanif, currently on placement at Morgan Stanley, and Arianna Paladin, on placement at Siemens on reaching the Finals held at Canary Wharf. Although neither Farah nor Arianna won the overall prize, they still greatly benefited from the experience of being selected and the opportunity to network so extensively. This is a guest post which includes testimonials from both students which will hopefully encourage more Year in Business students to apply in future years.

Arianna Paladin, studying BSc Management with International Business (Year in Business) writes:

On the 29th of April, I had the incredible opportunity to go to Canary Wharf to attend the finalists' gala for the TargetJobs' Undergraduate of The Year Awards 2022 . I was thrilled to be shortlisted among hundreds of applicants as a Top 10 finalist for the Management Award sponsored by Enterprise Rent a Car. This year TargetJobs received 3968 applications, so reaching the final stage of the awards is definitely one of my biggest achievements and a personal victory!

The event brought invaluable experience as I was able to network not only with other finalists coming from all over the country, but also with Enterprise's business leaders.

Applying for this award gave me the opportunity to experience what a graduate recruitment process actually looks like, from the initial application stage all the way to a live, face-to-face assessment centre. I also really enjoyed getting to know other candidates coming from universities all over the UK, as well as discovering Enterprise's company culture and its shared ethos.

Farah Hanif, studying BSc Management with International Business (Year in Business) writes:

“I had a amazing experience being a finalist for the Management Undergraduate of the Year award - one that I definitely did not expect when signing up. Even from the telephone interview stage, you get a sense of the value these companies place on undergrad/graduate talent. The Management award was partnered by Enterprise who treated us amazingly both at the assessment centre and the finals with networking opportunities and meals and the advice they gave us for the future. Targetjobs did a stunning job at the finals with a live orchestra, champagne reception, three course meal and brilliant celebrity-hosted award ceremony. The people you meet at events like these are hardworking, hugely motivated and accomplished young people and amazing connections to have. I would recommend applying regardless of what chance you think you have as you may be pleasantly surprised like me!”
